Markets that close early

24 coming up in the next four months. The next is BIST on Wed 28 Oct 2026, shutting at 12:30.

A half day is the closure people miss. A full holiday is on every financial calendar there is and the market is plainly shut all day. An early close looks like an ordinary session until it is not: the opening bell rings, the book trades, and then it stops at one in the afternoon while somebody is still working an order. That is the whole reason this page exists.

Which markets do this at all

Not all of them. An early close is a convention of a particular market rather than a general practice, and knowing which markets have the habit is half of not being caught by one.

Times are local to the market. Early closes move and get added late, more so than full holidays, because they are often a recommendation rather than a rule: the US bond market's come from SIFMA, not from an exchange. Confirm before you rely on one. The full holiday calendar has the days markets shut altogether.
