What this site is

isopennow.com is a free, non-commercial reference site. It publishes scheduled trading hours and holiday calendars for 20 financial markets, and works out an open-or-closed status in your own browser from that schedule and your device clock.

It is a hobby project. Nothing on it is sold, nothing is subscribed to, no payment is taken and no account exists. There is no service, no contract and no undertaking of any kind between you and whoever runs it — you are reading a page somebody published for free, and you may stop at any time.

What it is not

It is not a market data feed. It is not a trading system or an execution venue. It is not investment, financial, legal, accounting or tax advice, and nothing on it is a recommendation or solicitation to buy, sell or hold any instrument. It does not know your circumstances, it is not regulated by anyone, and it is not supervised, licensed or endorsed by any authority. If you need advice, take it from someone qualified and accountable.

Accuracy

No claim is made that anything here is correct. The schedules are compiled from exchange publications and third-party calendar data. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and sometimes they will be.

Markets change their hours. They add and move public holidays. They close at no notice for a state funeral, a storm or a systems failure, and no calendar predicts that. Several exchanges publish their calendar only a year ahead. Where the data does not reach a date, the day pages say so instead of assuming a normal trading day — but the absence of a warning is not a guarantee of correctness.

Markets whose holidays follow lunar or annually announced calendars are flagged on their own pages and warrant extra care: NSE India, SGX, SSE, US Bonds.

No warranty

The site, its data and its JSON API are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. That includes, without limitation, any warranty of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, or non-infringement. No statement anywhere on the site creates any warranty.

Availability is not promised. Any page, the data and the API may be slow, wrong, interrupted, changed or withdrawn at any time, without notice, and permanently.

No liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted by anyone involved in publishing this site for any loss or damage of any kind arising out of or in connection with its use, or with reliance on it. That includes trading and investment losses, missed trades, lost profit, lost revenue, lost opportunity, business interruption, loss of data, and any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, whether the claim is framed in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or otherwise, and whether or not the possibility of such loss was known.

Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Nothing here affects the mandatory statutory rights of a consumer.

You use this site entirely at your own risk. If you are not willing to accept that, please do not use it.

Trademarks and affiliation

This site is independent. It is not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to any exchange, market operator, index provider, data vendor or regulator named anywhere on it.

Exchange names, short names, abbreviations and MIC codes are used purely descriptively, to identify the market whose published hours are being listed. All trademarks, service marks and trade names are the property of their respective owners. No commercial use is made of them and no association is implied. If you own a mark used here and object to how it appears, the page can be changed or removed.

Third-party data

Holiday calendars here are refreshed with the help of exchange_calendars, an open-source Python package by Gerry Manoim and contributors, licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. The package is used as a source, not redistributed, and its output is checked and corrected by hand against exchange publications before anything is published. A background check may also query a third-party market status provider, to compare this site's own predictions against reality. Those sources carry their own terms and their own error rates, and no warranty is given for them either. Schedules are published here, never live prices.

The JSON API

The API at /api/status is offered free, unsupported, without any service level, and under everything stated on this page. It may change shape or disappear without notice. If you build on it, cache it, handle its failure, and do not present its output to your own users as authoritative. The disclaimer travels with every response.

Privacy

The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, has no accounts, no logins for visitors, no advertising and no third-party trackers. It does not ask you for personal data and does not collect any. Your timezone and your clock are read by JavaScript in your own browser to work out the local time; that never leaves your device.

The pages load no resources from any third-party host — no external fonts, scripts, frames or images — so browsing does not disclose your address to anyone but the hosting provider, Cloudflare, which processes request data transiently to serve the page and to protect against abuse.

This page can change without notice. The version in force is the one published here at the time you use the site.

Who runs this

isopennow.com is published by Peter Toth, a private individual in Hungary. It is a personal project with no company, employer or other organisation behind it, and it is not run on anyone else's behalf. Written enquiries reach the same address as everything else below.
